YOUR RELIABLE DUTCH OVEN: A perfect combination of style and functionality that never quits. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only enhances the look of your kitchen but is a timeless enameled cast iron cookware ideal for preparing and serving memorable meals. Grill, simmer, bake or roast your favorite dishes in the oven up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON: It is a type of glass that becomes fused to the cast iron at high temperatures. A glass particulate, called frit, is applied to the cast iron pot and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400 degrees Fahrenheit. The glass frit melts and bonds with the cast iron, creating a strong connection. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is resistant to heat and impervious to water and other substances.
EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior features a smooth finish that prevents sticking, encourages caramelization, and resists staining. While enameled cast iron can be cleaned in a dishwasher, it is recommended to hand wash it with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush to maintain its excellent condition.
HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron pot offers excellent heat distribution and retention, ensuring even heating across the bottom and sides. The tightly sealed lid effectively traps moisture for delicious pot roast, stews, or a large batch of beans. The outstanding heat retention also reduces the amount of energy required for cooking.
FAMILY-OWNED: Lodge is not just a business; it is a family. The Lodge family established the company in 1896, and they continue to own it today. Their commitment extends beyond business, focusing on environmental responsibility and community development. The products are made with non-toxic materials, free from PFOA and PTFE.
